While racing in 5th position in The Transat CIC fleet, Nicolas Lunven, skipper of the IMOCA Holcim-PRB, informed his shore team at 10 AM HF this Wednesday morning about the breakage of his bowsprit. The damage occurred during the night while he was sailing in strong wind conditions.

Despite this issue, Nicolas is continuing the race to New York, and the team is closely monitoring his progress to ensure he completes the course safely.

"The bowsprit is damaged and unusable, which means I won't be able to use my downwind sails for the rest of the race. We had prepared for all scenarios for The Transat CIC, and I have full confidence in my boat's ability to reach New York while racing," he stated. The technical team is currently analyzing all possible solutions to repair Holcim-PRB upon its arrival in New York.
